WELCOME TO MY WORKSHOP!

Hello! My name is Susie, and I’m the founder of Studio Stanway, a creative upholstery workshop in Wendover, Buckinghamshire.  I offer bespoke furniture design, a growing collection of home accessories, all designed & made by me, and re-upholstery work.

After 20 years working in fashion marketing I retrained in the AMUSF 3 stage upholstery diploma, gaining a Distinction.

 

Since then I have undertaken the School of Upholstered Furniture's Advanced Traditional Diploma, the only course in the UK to be accredited by the Guild of Traditional Upholsterers, again being awarded a Distinction for a chair I designed and built from the timber up. 

 

I have also joined the Guild as a Journeyman member after submitting a portfolio of my independent traditional work. My intention is to work towards full certificated membership.

I'm very excited to announce that (as of Dec '22) I've been accepted into Design Nation as a Graduate member and will be working up to full membership in the next couple of years.

Fabric sourcing is included within my quotes as a free of charge service and whilst based in the Chiltern hills I work throughout Bucks, Oxfordshire & London.
